Why do parents demand respect and obedience from the child? – Tao inspired parenting – Chapter 18

Tao Te Ching - Chapter 18

When the great Tao is forgotten, goodness and piety appear.

When the body’s intelligence declines, cleverness and knowledge step forth.

When there is no peace in the family, filial piety begins.

When the country falls into chaos, patriotism is born.

- Stephen Mitchell's translation from Tao Te Ching (The book of the way)

Tao inspired parenting

When you are not one with your child, you will teach your child to be kind and respectful.

When you don’t acknowledge the innate intelligence of the human, you will insist on your child to be educated and excel.

When you don’t show unconditional love to your child, you will demand your child to be courageous and disciplined.

When you have not built a harmonious relationship with your child, you will force respect and obedience from the child.
